Sustainable & regional
Since our first public welfare certification in 2019, we have been thinking very differently in many directions. Our efforts to save energy and operate sustainably permeate the entire brewery. This starts with the regional purchasing of our products and services and does not stop with the brewing of our beers. Topics such as climate neutrality, CO2 recovery, recycling of valuable materials, photovoltaics are just a few key points.
Our goal: Climate neutral by 2030 through our own efforts!

After great efforts and investments in technology, vehicle fleet and production, we have already been able to reduce our carbon footprint by half in recent years. Through compensation, we are now completely climate neutral. This applies to the entire company and to all our products and services.
CO2 recovery:
500 tons less CO2 in the atmosphere
CO2 is produced during the fermentation of Hachenburger beers. From now on, we will be capturing the environmentally harmful gas in a huge zeppelin in the Hachenburger ripening house. This is part of a CO2 recovery system that then cleans the gas and processes it into highly pure carbonic acid. We can then use this fermentation carbonic acid to fill non-alcoholic beverages. And it's good for the environment too!
With the help of the recovery plant, we can capture 500 tons of CO2 per year that previously simply evaporated into the atmosphere. This allows us to further reduce the carbon footprint of our Hachenburger beers and bring us a decisive step closer to our goal of being climate-neutral by 2030.
e-mobility
The brewery's entire fleet is already fully electric; only three trucks are still in use in the logistics fleet, all of which are expected to be fully electric by 2030.
For a few weeks now, we have had a second Hachenburg e-truck in our logistics fleet. This means that the number of electric vehicles has doubled in one fell swoop.
